Privacy Policy

Effective date: 20 July 2026

1. About this policy

This policy explains how Bluven Energy Pty Ltd (ABN 38 692 264 412) ("Bluven", "we", "us") collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information. We operate across Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia and New South Wales.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy is available free of charge on this website; contact us if you would like it in another format.

2. What personal information we collect

Quote and assessment requests: your name, email address, phone number, property address, state, and the energy details you choose to share (such as your power bill, usage pattern, roof and system preferences).

Newsletter signups: your email address.

AI support chat: the messages you type into the chat assistant.

Technical data: standard website logs and, where enabled, analytics data such as pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location. See our Cookie Notice for details.

3. How we collect it

Directly from you — through the quote form, free assessment, newsletter box, AI chat, or when you call or email us. We collect only what is reasonably necessary to provide our services.

You can browse this website, and ask general questions in the AI chat, without identifying yourself. We only ask for contact details when you want a quote, assessment or subscription.

4. Why we collect, use and disclose it

To prepare quotes and energy assessments, design and deliver solar and battery systems, provide customer service and warranty support, send our newsletter to subscribers, improve our website and services, and meet legal obligations (including rebate scheme requirements).

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Our AI chat assistant

The support chat on this website is an artificial-intelligence assistant. Messages you send to it are processed by Google (Gemini) to generate responses.

Please do not enter sensitive personal information (for example health or financial account details) into the chat. Chat answers are general information only — your quote and system design always come from our engineers.

6. Who we share your information with

Service providers that help us run the business: website and data hosting, our content-management and lead-management systems, email delivery, and Google (AI chat processing and, where enabled, analytics).

Installation partners and subcontractors, where needed to deliver your installation; and government or scheme bodies where required for rebates and certificates (for example STC processes).

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers process data outside Australia. In particular, AI chat messages and analytics data are processed by Google, whose servers are located in the United States and other countries.

Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps consistent with APP 8 to ensure it is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

8. Direct marketing and how to opt out

We only send marketing (such as our newsletter) where you have signed up or would reasonably expect it, consistent with APP 7 and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email identifies us and contains a working unsubscribe link.

You can opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us — we will action opt-outs promptly. We respect the Do Not Call Register for any telemarketing.

9. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses a small set of cookies for essential site functions, and may use analytics tools such as Google Analytics. See our Cookie Notice for what we use and how to manage or disable cookies.

10. How we hold and protect your information

Your information is held in access-controlled systems (our website database and content-management system). We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

When personal information is no longer needed for a purpose described in this policy, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

11. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us at any time for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. There is no charge for making a request, and we aim to respond within 30 days.

If we ever refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing and how you can complain about the refusal.

12. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it and respond to you — normally within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

13. Changes to this policy

We review this policy regularly and will publish any updated version on this page with a new effective date.
